Andrew Frederick
Assistant Board
For the past 10 years, Andy has been a lead engineer for several key initiatives inside of Comcast’s video portfolio. Andy has lead teams who have deployed major projects that have transformed the video space. These changes have paved the way for the next generation platforms that have transformed the customer experience and ultimately been syndicated to partners. Unified Database (UDB), Comcast Content Deliver Network (CCDN), Playlist Engine (PLE), Next Generation Video Control Plane (NGVCP), and Video Distribution Edge (VDE) are all projects he made meaningful impacts in.
The CLEAR Mentorship program is something that Andy has been passionate about and continues to invest significant time into. The passion was sparked after going through the program as a Mentee. He then returned to serve on the Committee, later as a Mentor, and then back to the Committee where he could take on a more direct role in shaping the vision and future of the program. Under his leadership, CLEAR has grown to a second city, visibility for the program has increased, and demand for the program continues to swell. Seeing the growth of Mentees and Mentors in the program and giving fellow Comcasters an opportunity to put their ideas directly in front of customers are some of the main reasons he keeps contributing to this space.
Andy graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2005 with a minor in Science, Technology, and Environmental studies. After college, he moved to Colorado where he met and married his wife. They currently live in Golden, have a baby son, and enjoy traveling off the beaten path to remote destinations.
