Paul Schauer

Paul E. Schauer is a Distinguished Engineer with Comcast Cable. Paul is involved in the design, development, and deployment of Comcast enterprise-wide network management tools and systems that are used throughout the company. These include solutions in the fault, capacity, inventory, and performance areas of network management.

Paul has been awarded five US patents during his work in the cable industry. He has presented at CableLabs, IETF, NCTA, and WICT forums.

Paul joined TCI Cable in 1997 as part of the team developing and deploying network management solutions for proprietary telephony-over-cable systems. Through several mergers Paul has worked on all facets of network management systems. Paul has also served in management roles. Paul has been manager and director of network management systems and a short term as director of the trouble ticketing systems. Paul has also served as interim manager of several Comcast teams over the years.

Paul earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Master of Arts degree in Computer Resource Management from Webster University in Aurora Colorado.

Paul participates as a mentor in the Comcast CLEAR program. He has also volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America and Girl Scouts of America.
