Rachel Williams

As the Division Vice President for Engineering Operations/Headends, Rachel leads the Systems Integration, Critical Infrastructure, and Headend teams for the West Division. Her 355 frontline and leadership team members ensure that our Network is up and running 24x7, and is constantly ready for customer growth today, tomorrow, and in the future.

Rachel joined Comcast in 2015 as the VP for Engineering for the Twin Cities Region, leading the Construction, Engineering, and Network Maintenance Teams. From that role, Rachel was asked to lead the Technical Operations team for the Twin Cities Region, where she was responsible for the 500+ agents/technicians focused on dispatch and field fulfillment for business and residential customers in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Kansas, and Missouri.

Prior to Comcast, Rachel spent 5 years with General Dynamics Information Technology in the Intelligence Division where she held positions of increasing responsibility in Operations, Strategic Planning, and Cyber Security. She would love to tell you what she did there as she worked with many three letter agencies, but she would have to kill you. 😉

Rachel’s 10-year career with Verizon, prior to GDIT, was focused on field operations. As the Director of Operations for Northern Virginia/Southwest Virginia, she led a team of 440 management and union personnel focused on delivering service to business and residential customers. Prior to this role, Rachel was the Director of Network Operations for DC, Maryland, and Virginia, leading a team of 1250 management and union personnel focused on building and maintaining the network. She also led teams in FIOS Installation/Maintenance, Copper Installation/Maintenance, Construction, Proactive/Preventive Maintenance, and the Bill Payment Center.

Rachel holds a Ph.D. in Organization and Management with a Specialization in Leadership, and wrote her dissertation on Emotional Intelligence and its correlation to Leadership style. She also holds an M.B.A., and a B.A. with a double major in Political Science and Philosophy, and double minors in English and Sociology. She is ITIL Expert certified, PMP certified, a graduate of the Tuck Executive Leadership Program, and a graduate of the Betsy Magness Leadership Institute.

In her spare time, Rachel is an avid adventure seeker who loves skiing, hiking, biking, white water rafting, jumping out of airplanes, and traveling to beautiful places. You will often find her 5-year old Samoyed pup Kallie, and members of her very tight knit family joining in the fun! She is also an endurance athlete who finished her first IronMan in 2018 and is training for 2 more Half IronMan races in 2020 – Boulder and Portugal.

Rachel is a native of the Washington DC area, but loves calling Denver her home now!
